Acerca del evento

The Diversity Catalyst Committee is hosting an agInnovation Best Practices Webinar on February 22 at 4:00 PM ET.  The webinar title is Fulfilling the Land-grant Mission through Cultural Competency and will be presented by Dr. Jacquelyn Wiersma-Mosley, Assistant Dean of Bumpers College, University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture.  Registration is free and all are invited!

Dr. Mosley’s webinar will discuss how cultural competency and the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion are all inherent values of the land-grant mission. Her research program, AR CommUniversity, focuses on three primary goals that she has initiated in Arkansas: (1) supporting underrepresented students in AGRI-STEM; (2) utilizing research frameworks of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI); and (3) providing resources and data to implement cultural competency and DEI within Agriculture Experiment Stations. Lastly, she will discuss how to navigate the difficult anti-DEI climates that are affecting agriculture stations across the US.
